Location

This years conference will be held at the New Mexico State Fairgrounds in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The Dairy Barn is a well-ventilated, fully functional arena suiatable for virtually any type of horse show or competition. The venue offers mobile bleacher seating for spectators that can be placed in a variety of configurations, its own sound system, ample lighting, and pens/stalls that can be built and structured to the needs of the tenant. Enclosed area within the structure at the south end houses a prep kitchen/food vendor space. Ample office space and an announcer booth are also available.

Presenters and Highlights

Christoph Lensing

Our clinician will be Christoph Lensing. Christoph Lensing is one of the most sought after clinicians in the world. As a former vaulter in the years between 1987 and 1996, Christoph won the World Vaulting Cup 3 times and came in second twice. He won the European Championships 3 times and came in second once. He won the German National Championships 4 times and came in second 6 times. He is one of the most renownedvaulters of our times because of his skill but also his dedication to the sport. Since the end of his active vaulting career, he has coached many individual vaulters from different countries to the highest levels as well as coaching international teams. He is also a practicing physical therapist and a well known designer of innovative surcingles.

Yossi Martonovich

Classical Training of the Vaulting Horse Clinic with Yossi Martonovich. Yossi is a trainer and longeur for Golden Gate Vaulters at Little Spring Ranch in Golden, Colorado. He has trained & competed with vaulting horses at 2 World Equestrian Games as well as many National & Regional competitions. A lifetime of searching for the best way, hard work, and experience have given him a wealth of knowledge on classical dressage training that makes him a great resource to the vaulting & riding community.

Highlights

Three days of concurrent sessions. Concurrent session highlights will include topics such as:

  • selection of the vaulting horse
  • horsemanship
  • tacking, grooming, & braiding for parents and other volunteers
  • panel discussion on horse scores with parent input
  • basics of competitive lunging
  • safety around the barn and the horses
  • starting a team
  • adult vaulting
  • developing personalized freestyle programs
  • coaching tiny tots vaulters
  • herbal remedies
  • rehabbing & preventing vaulting injuries
  • how to come off your horse safely
  • therapeutic vaulting
  • discussion on what it takes to put on a performance/demo, music, and more

    Lance Brown is also coming and bringing his barrels. He would like to make sure that we let everyone know that he can bring barrels for them but they need to preorder at least 4 weeks in advance so he can get them made.
